Yeah, I know. I was a bad girl this week with the calories. Lately I've been sooooo hungry and it's been quite a struggle. What really killed my average was the cookout we had for Memorial Day. I had a 985 calorie Ribeye steak and it was delicious! I ended up with over 2500 calories for that day alone. With the 270's so close, I'll be working extra hard this week to keep the average under 2,000/day.

I'm still waiting for the results of the biopsy on my leg which were supposed to be back today. As long as it comes back okay then I'll be bumping up the heartrate on my treadmill workouts from 120 bpm to 125 bpm. I know I should probably just do it now, but DH is on my back about waiting so I will.

This may sound a little weird, but I'm so ready to jog. I do a few minutes of jogging each workout, but after my heartrate reaches the target, I pretty much walk the rest of the time to maintain it (around 2.8 - 3.0 mph at the moment). Even a light jog really gives me a rush. Rereading that last sentence makes me realize how far I've come. A few months ago I would have never said that! Anyways...before I start jogging more I really need to get new shoes. I've got 2 blisters on my right foot from my cheap ass Walmart sneakers. :-( Will do that Saturday so I don't have to drag the kids with me.

i'm [not] lovin' it

Tonight we had McDonald's for dinner and I chose to have a salad (340 calories plus 45 calories for my own dressing) and a McFlurry. I looooove the McFlurries and at 560 calories a pop, I'll still find a way to work one in now and then. When my husband brought it home tonight, I noticed that it looked kind of low in the cup.

I thought that maybe it had melted a bit on the way home, but decided to put it on the food scale just to be sure. According to the nutritional info on McDonald's site, it should weigh 337 grams. Can you imagine my surprise when it tipped the scales at only 209 grams including the cup and lid? One of those things has nearly one-third of my daily caloric intake so if I'm counting it I want every bite! We ended up taking it back and getting another one but I still feel kind of ripped off.

Whoooooo! Taylor won!

I loved Taylor Hicks from the beginning of this season of American Idol, but I never thought he'd win. I may despise the state of Alabama--lived there for the worst 2 years of my life--but there's something I love about the gray-haired Alabama guys. Must be something in the water there as my husband is also a prematurely graying Alabamian. :-)

Pretty good week despite all of the stress. I had my MRI done last night and my doctor appointment today. My appointment was scheduled for 9:45 and we didn't see anyone until 11:00. Typical! When the assistant finally came in he said that the MRI had not been reviewed by anyone in radiology and that we'd have to come back tomorrow. I tell you what, after an entire week of sitting on pins and needles, I totally lost it. Total meltdown...tears and all. The surgeon came in, called radiology and after another hour of waiting in the exam room we found out that it is most likely not cancerous. I pressed the surgeon for a percentage chance of whether or not it was and he said "as close to zero as you can get" so that's a relief. They said it was inflamed and irritated from something and they did a biopsy. Those results will be back next week. I came home and ate half of a huge Hershey's Special Dark Chocolate candy bar (400 calories) and I feel better now. LOL

After this huge ordeal and stitches in my leg, I really don't feel like doing my hour on the treadmill today. I'll try to make up today's workout on Saturday.

Whoopee!!! I hit 30 lbs. lost!!!

Why do I hate doctors? Let me count the ways...

Well I went to my PCP yesterday and in 5 minutes, without ordering any tests, he pronounced that I had a tumor and that "there was a chance that it wasn't cancerous." WTH??? Could he have worded that any worse? Understandably I was extremely upset all last night and this morning.

This afternoon I went to see a surgeon and he said it was not a tumor and it was very unlikely that it was cancerous. To be on the safe side, he has ordered an MRI which will be done Tuesday night and the follow up is Wednesday morning. He thinks these lumps are caused by calcium deposits from a leg injury. As you all can imagine, I really hope the surgeon's right.

I'm falling apart...

I've had these two spots on my right shin that have been coming and going for several months. Now they're pretty swollen and I have to go to the doctor. Waaaaaah!! I hate doctors.

The best I can figure out with google is that it's cellulitis. I have all of the symptoms: red, swollen, tender, and warm. On the bright side, the upper one has gotten smaller and isn't as warm as it was a few days ago.

Through all of this I'm still walking on the treadmill. It only hurts when I push on the spots so I figured that walking is okay. :-) My doctor's appointment is tomorrow afternoon so wish me luck!

After 3 phenomenal weeks, there was bound to be a slowdown. Although I still had a loss, it wasn't very impressive. I know I followed the program 100% this week so it must be a water weight issue. Here are this week's numbers...

Another Good Week!

This week I really worked hard. I've been watching episodes of Australia's Biggest Loser while walking on the treadmill which really helps keep me motivated. I guess there's nothing like watching people half way around the world suffering on a treadmill too. :-D

On a sad note I lost my diet partner (DH). For the past two weeks he hasn't logged his food in his food diary and a few days ago I found that he had just given up counting calories all together. He had lost 27.6 lbs. but has since gained 4 lbs. back. He's a pretty competetive guy so hopefully I can nudge him back in the right direction soon.

No matter what happens, I'm staying strong and focused and I'm just 2 lbs. away from my next mini-goal.
