Week 47 Weigh-In

Current weight - 236.8 lbs.
This week's loss - 1.0 lbs.
Total loss - 80.8 lbs.
Average calories per day - 1996
Treadmill - 5.1 miles in 1 1/2 hours over 3 days burning 975 calories.
Exercise DVD - 1 hr. 40 min. over 2 days burning 814 calories.

I think this has been my best week in a while. Not so much for the weightloss, but mentally as I was "in the groove".

I started the week with 3 goals in mind: 1. To exercise 5 days during the week. 2. To average less than 2,000 calories per day. 3. To lose at least 0.2 lbs. and make it to 80 lbs. total loss. I'm happy to report that I met all 3! Woohoo!

This week I'll still be focusing on exercising 5 days and I'll try to limit my calories to less than 1900/day.

Today I received a wonderful compliment. A good friend of mine said she noticed the past few times she's seen me that I've looked younger. Since I'll be turning 34 next Tuesday, this was particularly uplifting. I'm not sure whether to chalk it up to eating better, exercising, or that new $18 bottle of moisturizer, but I'll take it! :-D

Sweet 16W

Tonight I tried on some reference pants that I wore in 2000. These weren't the smallest pants I wore that year, but they're the only ones I kept. They didn't exactly fit, but I was able to pull them up over my butt. Woohoo!!! This is a huge thing for me. I haven't been able to wear these jeans since I had my first child. I'm still probably 20 lbs. or so from being able to zip them up, but this just felt so good I just had to share. :-D

Week 46 Weigh-In

Current weight - 237.8 lbs.
This week's loss - 1.4 lbs.
Total loss - 79.8 lbs.
Average calories per day - 2220
Treadmill - 5.05 miles in 1 1/2 hours over 3 days burning 979 calories.
Exercise DVD - 35 minutes burning 164 calories (maybe more, forgot to turn my heartrate monitor when I started)

The first full week of 2007 went pretty well. I could have done better on the calories, but I did keep the exercise commitment that I made to myself. I finished Week 1 and today I started Week 2 of the C25K.

I did get mad at the scales this morning since they wouldn't give me that extra 0.2 lbs. to make it an even 80 lbs. lost. LOL I got on and off the scales a few times and they just wouldn't budge. :-D Next week for sure!

Today I went to Target and bought some inline skates. I brought them home and skated around my kitchen for a little while. It took a few minutes to get my sea legs back, and I didn't even fall once! Woohoo! I used to love skating as a kid and I'm itching to share this experience with my kids.

I'm one of those weird people whose feet shrink when losing weight, so once I finish losing this weight, and settle on a shoe size, I'll probably buy myself a nice expensive pair to celebrate. For now, however, the Target cheapies will work.

Week 45 Weigh-In

Current Weight - 239.2 lbs.
This week's loss - 0.2 lbs.
Total loss - 78.4 lbs.

Well I managed to eek through the holidays with a slight loss. To be honest, I was really surprised that it wasn't a gain.

Driving back from Alabama on 12/30 I was really tired, so I kept myself awake by snacking on a ton of Pringles and Hershey's Kissables. Yeah, not good. On 12/31 I was back on track until that night when I somehow rationalized that everyone else on the planet was celebrating with food, so why wasn't I? And...you guessed it...more Pringles.

Today is day 3 of the year and things have been going well for '07. There are, however, some things I really need to work on... I need to start going to bed earlier and I really need to push myself more on the exercise front.

I started back on the C25K program this morning with Week 1 and it was rough. Ugh...why did I stop for the holidays? I'll be paying for that mistake for a while.

I recently joined a weightloss group on YouTube called Gut2Cut. If you aren't familiar with that group, or YouTube, you should check it out! Gut2Cut is a whole group of people like us who are trying to lose weight. You can find me there as ShrinkingMom. I just posted my very first video if you want to see it. :-)
