Well at least I didn't gain! :-) This week my goal will be to eat better. I've been looking through my food diary and I really don't like what I see. Way too much junk food and not enough fruits and veggies. Lately I've been eating tons of chocolate and loads of cookies too.

Notice my new pic over on the side? I had to take a pic to send to my half-sister whom I have never met and only recently located. I swear I'll be seeing spots for weeks after taking a couple of dozen pics of myself. This is one of the better ones. I like how the fluorescent ceiling light met up with the sunlight from the window next to me and the flash from the camera. It makes my hair have a weird light on top/dark on the bottom fade effect.

I've been bad :-(

Yesterday I totally went over my calorie limit by several hundred calories. I have such a hard time sometimes with refined sugar. Cookies and candy are so hard for me to resist.

Today is a new day, however, and I am really trying to get my head back in the right place. I pulled out my copy of SuperfoodsRx and am reading it again. I need to do more reading about nutrition as this helps to keep me focused.

I've started back up on the treadmill...30 minutes Sunday and another 60 minutes yesterday. Will try to do 60 minutes later today.

This morning for breakfast I had 1/2 cup of 100% blueberry juice mixed with 1/2 can of diet 7-up (now made with Splenda!) and a Quaker Oatmeal to Go bar. Now let me tell you something... When I think "Quaker Oats" I generally think of healthy foods. I was quite shocked to read that the second ingredient in the bar was high fructose corn syrup followed by brown sugar. Other ingredients near the top of the list were regular sugar and two partially hydrogenated (bad) oils followed by more corn syrup. Wow!!! I bought a big box of these at Sam's Club last week and I'm too cheap to throw them out. I'll finish the box but I definitely won't be buying any more!

The good news...I finally made it over 40 lbs. lost! It's really starting to feel "real". I can't believe I'm only 9 lbs. away from 50! The bad news...No exercise this week and the caloric intake wasn't that great.

I know it's not a good excuse for no exercise, but things have been hectic around here. My oldest had her ballet and tap recital last weekend and there was also a rehearsal too. My dad came down for a visit today so I've been cleaning my butt off around here. (Does that count as exercise? :-) I'm not the best housekeeper, so when I have company coming over it can take a day or two to prepare. Sad, I know.

I've also been cat-sitting two insane solid white kitties (Frosty and Marshmallow) and they've taken up residence in my pantry/laundry/exercise room. The 20 lb. male cat, Frosty, has been really aggressive towards me so I've been steering clear of him and staying out of the room. Hopefully they'll be going home in a day or two.

I twisted my ankle coming off of a ladder last weekend, so I haven't been on the treadmill since. I'm hoping to get back into exercising on Monday...giving my poor sore ankle time to heal.

My caloric intake was right on target this week, and I finally made it to the 270's! Woohoo! Hoping to hit the 40 lbs. lost next week so keep your fingers crossed. :-)

I'd post before and progress photos, but my "before" pics were taken when I had already lost 13 lbs. so I don't think the difference would be very noticable. When I hit 250 I'll put them up, that way they'll show an actual 50+ lb. loss between the pics. I need to take my measurements again too as I haven't done so since early March.

Computer Issues

The hard drive in my laptop totally died a few days ago and my replacement just arrived a few hours ago. I'll post a diet update tomorrow morning once I get everything restored. Just wanted to let you all know that I haven't run off and quit my diet! :-D

I'm really starting to see a pattern with my weightloss, and had I looked at my graphs, I would have been able to predict only a small loss this week. I'll be honest too...I got on and off the scales a few times and took the smaller of the two numbers. :-) It all averages out in the end, but it makes me feel like I accomplished more this week! LOL

My caloric average is better this week and I hope to get it a bit lower over the next week. I kicked up the heartrate on the treadmill from 120 to 125 Monday and it was too much! I swear it was like running in the cold air at gym class back in grade school. So I reduced it to 122 and will try to bump it up by 1 a week until I'm in better shape.
