Still hanging in there!

Day 2 is ending and I'm still sticking to it. I just finished a 30 minute walk on the treadmill. I was hoping to do it this morning, but I needed to run errands before it got too hot outside. Yesterday my calories were just under 2,000 and today I hit 2,020. I really wish I could go lower, but as soon as I try it's like everything falls apart.

I want to thank Kim, Dee, Teresa, Fatmom, and Amanda for leaving encouraging comments over the past two days. I won't let you guys down! Now I'm off to read some more of the You: On a Diet book to help keep my head in the game. :-) Oh...and brush, floss, swish. :-D

Good on you for getting back into it. Do you have a TV around your treadmill? That kinda helps.
Exercising in the pantry is a novel idea lol

I use my laptop to watch tv shows and movies while walking on the 'mill. Definitely helps to pass the time! Tonight I watched a bit of Arrested Development. Is Jason Bateman hot or what??? :-)

We have a "bonus room" off the kitchen so I have a couple of metal shelving units to hold whatever food doesn't go in the fridge or cupboards. The water heater and my washer and dryer are in there as well. So it's kind of like a utility room/pantry/home gym all rolled into one! LOL Our house is kind of small so we have to cram it all in somewhere. :-D

I've been looking for a while for someone with about as much weight to lose as myself. I found you!

So I've added you to my blogroll, hope you don't mind.

I have 180 pounds to lose. That's the first time I said it out loud. I am starting tomorrow. It took me a long time to figure out how I wanted to do it.

Too many choices and not knowing which one will work.

If you have a minute, could you tell me about the "You On A Diet" book? Is it good?

I have the South Beach Diet book. But I'm not even reading it. I decided it's not for me (too many reasons to go into here).

Well, good luck! I'll go back to lurking now.

Hey Teebopop! We can do this! The authors of You on a Diet have been on Oprah as well as having a special on the Discovery Health (?) channel. Although I have not read the whole book, I think the gist is you should eat healthier all around and avoid certain bad ingredients like high-fructose corn syrup and transfats. I'm only about 1/4 of the way in, but so far it's pretty informative!
