Another Good Week!

Here are the stats:

Current weight - 289.6
This week's loss - 3.2 lbs.
Average calories per day - 1989
Treadmill - 9.16 miles in 3 hrs. 55 min. over 5 days

This week I really worked hard. I've been watching episodes of Australia's Biggest Loser while walking on the treadmill which really helps keep me motivated. I guess there's nothing like watching people half way around the world suffering on a treadmill too. :-D

On a sad note I lost my diet partner (DH). For the past two weeks he hasn't logged his food in his food diary and a few days ago I found that he had just given up counting calories all together. He had lost 27.6 lbs. but has since gained 4 lbs. back. He's a pretty competetive guy so hopefully I can nudge him back in the right direction soon.

No matter what happens, I'm staying strong and focused and I'm just 2 lbs. away from my next mini-goal.

    Hi Jen :)

    Oh wow you're doing WONDERFULLY!!!
I'm proud of you, my dear. Look at those stats! Jen, I notice you are eating more calories than I am every day and losing about the same as I am. Because of YOU, I think I will definitely up my calorie intake from 1300 to 1500 just to see how it will effect me.

You know that's a great idea you have to watch that show while you're on the treadmill. Maybe I'll get one of Richard Simmons tapes and watch it while I ride the bike instead of doing the Wine Country tour every time. Thanks! :)

Oh that's too bad about your DH falling off the wagon. :( It happens to practically all of us at one time or another and like you say hopefully something will happen that will cause him to get back on it. :) You say he's competitive. Maybe if you bet with him?

You have the right mindset, Jen. Stay strong, strong, STRONG!!! that will help both of you. I'll be watching for you to reach your 2 lb. mini goal very soon!!!!

    Hi Again Jen :)

I forgot to ask you - how many fat grams a day do you eat?

Thank you for all of the kind words, FB. I actually don't count fat grams. I did take note of them when I was entering my food at sparkpeople.com and it was usually in the "normal" range. If I were counting them today, I'd hate to think how many I had since I made Thai Peanut Chicken Stirfry for dinner. :-) The sauce is made with peanut butter so I'm sure it was loaded with fat. The only thing I count is the calories I consume.

I've been thinking about posting what I eat every day, but I'm sure that it would be quite shocking to most people. :-)

Don't worry, Sujaz, I had already seen who had won and the before and after pics. I have no patience and I had to look it up. :-D Unfortunately it's not being broadcast in the USA so I had to "find" it online.

You guys have the best tv shows over there. I also love your version of Big Brother. This is my second year watching it.

    Hopefulloser,

I couldn't have done it without the patch. One thing I learned with that is do not go generic! The Nicoderm clear patches seemed to work the best for me. It was like a warm blanket that helped to keep me calm.

I also downloaded a free program called Silkquit which keeps track of how long it's been, how much you've saved, etc. and that really kept me motivated.

Finally, doing a lot of deep breathing really helped too. Kind of like taking a drag off an imaginary cigarette and blowing it out slowly like you're blowing out smoke. Doing that helped me get past the really strong cravings.

I still have a craving for a cigarette now and then, but I would never give in and ruin all of my progress. I guess that's one thing I've learned from dieting, losing a lot of weight, and then gaining it all back. It's that first moment of weakness that blows the whole thing.
