Pepsi Euphoria

Well, that's what they should've named the new Diet Pepsi Max that rolled out June 1st here in the US. Holy crap this stuff is good! Has anyone else tried it? I've turned so many people on to it in the last few weeks, Pepsico should be giving me a cut of the profits! :-)

I'm not sure if it's because of the extra caffeine (has nearly twice as much as Diet Pepsi) or if it's the ginseng, but this stuff just makes me feel "happy"! According to Wikipedia, one of the side effects of ginseng is euphoria so maybe that's why? Either way, it's a nice calorie-free pick-me-up.

Like I told my fellow Mommy friends....it's like the first day of school in a can! :-D

Week 70

Current weight - 236.2 lbs.
This week's loss - 2.0 lbs.
Total loss - 81.4 lbs.

Well I did okay for 3 days and the rest of the week I was bad. I've got to quit eating all of these refined carbs! I swear as soon as I get one bite of something sugary I'm off track for days. The fact that I bought lots of yummy treats for the kids isn't helping either. Too much temptation with the ice cream, S'mores stuff, cookies, etc. It all has to go!

I did, however, find something to help with my sweet tooth, I think. Walmart carries sugar-free sno-cone syrup. The entire (16 oz.?) bottle has 50 calories. I have to save this treat for close to bedtime since artificial sweeteners make me crave the real thing, but I can have a HUGE bowl of shaved ice with syrup for almost no calories. If you haven't seen it, you can find it in the housewares department near the ice cream makers and sno-cone machines. The sugar-free kind comes in two flavors, cherry and blue raspberry. They are quite good but do not mix them. Blech!!! I also read that some people use the sugar-free coffee flavoring syrups on shaved ice. I bought a bottle of Sugar Free DaVinci Vanilla Syrup to try. Will let you know if it's any good!

Still hanging in there!

Day 2 is ending and I'm still sticking to it. I just finished a 30 minute walk on the treadmill. I was hoping to do it this morning, but I needed to run errands before it got too hot outside. Yesterday my calories were just under 2,000 and today I hit 2,020. I really wish I could go lower, but as soon as I try it's like everything falls apart.

I want to thank Kim, Dee, Teresa, Fatmom, and Amanda for leaving encouraging comments over the past two days. I won't let you guys down! Now I'm off to read some more of the You: On a Diet book to help keep my head in the game. :-) Oh...and brush, floss, swish. :-D

Week 69 (Restarting)

Ugh...how did it come to this? Since my last reported weigh-in (3 weeks ago) I've gained 10.2 lbs. Yep...my new weight is 238.2. :-( So basically I wiped out all of the progress I've made since Christmas.

Food today has been great. I discovered the nectarines that have been sitting in the fridge for almost a week and I've eaten 6 of them today! LOL I need to pace myself since I'm not going to the store again until Friday.

Tonight I went into the pantry/exercise room and cleaned up around the treadmill. I'm hoping to get on it tomorrow for at least half an hour.

Now I'm off to brush my teeth, floss, and swish with Listerine. This way I won't be as tempted to eat later this evening! :-)

So far, so good!

Here we go again!

Helloooooo!!! Anybody out there??? It's been nearly 3 weeks since I posted last so I kind of wonder if anyone still bothers to stop by. :-/

Tomorrow, June 20th, I will be starting back up with this diet thing. I've taken entirely too much time off and have put on quite a few pounds in the process.

I will weigh-in tomorrow morning and will post the damage report sometime in the afternoon. Ugh...I'm dreading the public embarrassment. :-(

The good and the bad

DD went back to school today and thankfully "Tommy" didn't mention me or my size today. Phew! Since it seems to be a one shot deal, I'll just let it slide like you guys suggested.

Soccer practice today is a different story. OMG!!! What is it with kids these days? Here's my rant for the day... The soccer coach's son is by far the biggest kid on the team. The team is mostly 5 and 6 year-olds but this kid has got to be 7 or 8. DD barely comes up to his chest.

I'm not sure what led up to the incident, but I just happened to turn my head to see this boy with his hands in the air shove DD and throw her to the ground. DD is 39 lbs. (17.7 kg) and he's got to be 80+ lbs. (36+ kg). The ball was not in play at the time so this was totally not game related. It was an aggressive act. Of course she started crying and when I started walking out to the field the coach finally noticed and took his son out of the practice game. DD doesn't know why he did it and all he said beforehand was, "What are you looking at?!" I'll be honest with you, she's not into soccer. It was quite possible the ball rolled by her while she was looking for dandelions to pick and it pissed him off. But such aggression? From a young boy?

You know I've been dealing with so much BS lately. It's affected my life in every way. I'm done now. That's it. Over. She's out of soccer. I know I should make her stay and stand up to this bully, but there's a real safety issue there with the size and gender difference. This boy has shown a real mean streak at every practice and game, only this time it was aimed at my daughter. It took all I had to get my stuff together and walk out of there without completely losing it. Ugh!!! Kids!!!
